The future of medicine lies in our ability to engineer immunity—an effort that depends on the synergy between fundamental discoveries and technological innovation.
Dr. Laura Van Eyndhoven is a postdoctoral researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology, mentored by Prof. Dr. Carlijn Bouten and Prof. Dr. Willem Mulder. Positioned at the intersection of Bouten’s Soft Tissue Engineering and Mechanobiology group and Mulder’s Precision Medicine group, Laura investigates immune modulation strategies using nanotherapeutics to enhance in situ tissue regeneration.
Dr. Laura Van Eyndhoven earned her Master’s degree in Biology, specializing in Immunology, from Wageningen University in 2019. During her master’s, Laura was a visiting researcher for six months at the University of California, Davis, in the Department of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology. She obtained her PhD, cum laude, in 2023 from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her doctoral research focused on modelling and modulating inflammation using droplet-based microfluidics. After her PhD, Laura joined the Systems Biology group of Prof. Arjun Raj at the University of Pennsylvania. There, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Bioengineering. Her research focused on clonal variability in inflammatory responses, applying lineage tracing techniques in organotypic skin constructs. This project was conducted in collaboration with Princeton University and funded by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
