Research profile
Kumar Ayush is a Doctoral candidate in the Elementary Processes in Gas Discharges (EPG) group of the Department of Applied Physics and Science Education at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His PhD research focuses on the inception of streamers in lightning-like high-voltage conditions and understanding how and when does the first discharge takes place. The research is part of the ERC-grant project, 'Bottled Lightning'.
Academic background
Kumar Ayush obtained his master's and bachelor's degree in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali, India. For his master's thesis Ayush studied gas ionization using OES in RF-driven plasmas at the Institute for Plasma Research Gandhinagar, India, as well as carried out simulations to study Muon tomography using a Straw-Tube tracker geometry.
