Research profile

Kostas Doris is a part-time Professor of Broadband Data Conversion with the Mixed Signal Microelectronics research group at the TU/e department of Electrical Engineering. His main affiliation is with NXP where he is a Fellow working on CMOS mm-wave radar transceivers and high speed data converters. Kostas Doris is the (co-) author of a number of papers, patents, and books in the field of data converters. In 2012/2013 he served as Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions of Circuits and Systems, Part 1. He currently is a TPC member and EU Vice Chair of ISSCC.

Academic background

Kostas Doris studied Physics and Radio Electronics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) where he received his MSc in 1998. In 2004, he obtained his PhD from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, The Netherlands). In 2003, he joined Philips Research and subsequently, in 2006, NXP Semiconductors, working on high-speed high resolution data converters. During 2011-2014, he was leading the activities in high-speed data converters and serial interfaces in the Central Research & Development Business Unit of NXP. In 2015, he became a Sr. Principal and R&D Development Manager in the NXP Business Unit Automotive, where his team developed radar and radio electronics for the future self-driving connected Car. He was appointed part-time professor of Broadband Data Conversion with the Mixed Signal Microelectronics research group at TU/e. Since 2016, he is a Fellow at NXP working on CMOS mm-wave radar transceivers and high speed data converters.
