Kay Peeters is a PhD student at the Dynamics and Control group at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology. He obtained a BSc and MSc degree in mechanical engineering, for which he completed an internship at the University of Queensland and graduation project for a large material handling automation company. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree aimed at the optimization of a poultry processing plant, with a focus on production planning and control. The project is a collaboration with an industrial partner that produces poultry processing lines, and involves support from the Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control group at the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. His research interests include Markov processes, Markov decision processes, online combinatorial optimization and production scheduling, with a focus on applied research.
