Research profile

Dr.ir. J.W. (Helm) Jansen received his MSc degree (cum laude) and his PhD degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, in 2003 and 2007 respectively. Until 2018, he continued to work in the Electromechanics and Power Electronics group of the Eindhoven University of Technology as an assistent and associate professor in the field of electromechanics for high-precision systems. He is currently a system architect in the Precision Solutions progam within Prodrive Technologies. He is still involved in supervision of PhD and MSc students. His research includes the modeling (both semi-analytical and numerical) and the design advanced electromechanical devices, such as linear and planar motors, (integrated) magnetic bearings, multi-DOF actuators, and wireless energy transfer systems.
