Juliana Carvalho is a Postdoc at the Electro-Optical Communication group (ECO5), Institute for Integrated Photonics.
Her research focuses on 5G/6G millimeter waves (the future generations’ of wireless communication) and Optical Networks. She is a team member in the project 5G PPP blueSPACE, a European research project led by TU/e that will develop wireless technology for 5G wireless systems and 5G-MOBIX, that will examine the implications of 5G and its role in the future of autonomous driving.
Academic background
Juliana is graduated in Physics with emphasis in Physics Teaching at Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro. From 2010 to 2017, she worked as a researcher at Centro de Estudos em Telecomunicações of Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro, where she obtained her master's and doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering with research line in Applied Electromagnetism (microwave and optical devices and systems). In 2018 she was at Instituto de Telecomunicações of Universidade de Aveiro as post-doctoral researcher in signal processing applied to radar. In 2019 she started a post-doctoral position at the Electro-Optical Communication group of Eindhoven University of Technology.
