Research profile
Hans Vermeulen is a Full Professor in Systems and Control and Chair of Mechatronic Systems Design at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His research focuses on high performance motion systems with a focus on accurate and reproducable mechanics, among others through precision engineering design principles. Research areas include viscous and visco-elastic damping, advanced thermal control, superconductive linear and planar motors, medical equipment, and active substrate tables, in strong collaboration with the High Tech Systems Center (HTSC).
Academic background
Hans Vermeulen received his PhD in Mechatronics as well as an MSc in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc in Technological Design / Mechatronics from TU/e. In addition to his work at TU/e, Hans is also Senior architect EUV optics system at ASML Netherlands BV as well as Chairman of the national R&D Workgroup Mechatronics for OEMs, SMEs and knowledge institutes. These used to be part of former Point-One and are now connected to the High Tech Systems Center at Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. Previously, he also worked as a System Architect with Philips Applied Technologies and as Project Manager and System.
