Even today with all the knowledge of fluid dynamics, fluid flow and its applications is still a kaleidoscope of challenging physics for scientists.
Jos Zeegers is Associate Professor in the Fluids and Flows group of the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology. His research interests cover the field of experimental fluid dynamics. He has been involved in thermo-acoustics, cryocoolers, compressible flow, nozzles and vortex tubes. Recently his focus is on thin film flows, turbulence, and particle motion in magnetic fluids. The field of research is physics of fluids for sustainability.
Jos Zeegers has obtained a Master in Applied Physics (Cum Laude) from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), and obtained a PhD in experimental physics on the fluid dynamics of superfluid helium at temperatures below 100 mK. He has worked as scientist some 8 years at TNO, the University of Twente and the industry, in the fields of heat transfer, rheology, and combustion. Since 1998 he is employed at TU/e Physics Department as Assistant Professor in Fluid Dynamics. His research focuses mainly on applications of experimental fluid flow for industry. The context is Physics of Fluids for Sustainability
