Research profile

Jean-Philippe was born in 1980 in Brussels, Belgium. He graduated in 2004 from Edinburgh University with a BSc in Medical Microbiology and then completed his MSc in Immunology and Immunogenetics from Manchester University in 2006. Jean-Philippe then moved in 2007 to the Department of Miniaturisation, Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften -ISAS-e.V., in Dortmund, Germany where he completed his PhD thesis with the title: 'Cell patterning for spatially standardized cell biology‘. He then worked 3 years as a postdoctoral researcher at University Twente in the lab-on-a chip group of Albert van den Berg (2011-2014) before moving to TU Eindhoven and joining the Microsystem Group where he currently works on the Brain on a Chip project.
