Research profile

Jieun Yang received her bachelor’s (2010) and doctoral degrees (2016) in Mechanical Engineering from Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea. After receiving her PhD, she worked at Samsung Electronics as a senior research engineer from September 2016 to December 2018. In January 2019, she moved to the Netherlands to join the Building Acoustics group at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) as a postdoctoral researcher. As of January 2021, she was appointed as an assistant professor in the department of the built environment at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research interests include acoustic material design for noise and vibration reduction, acoustic/vibroacoustic metamaterials, and 3D printing of acoustical structures.
