Academic background

Jessica Pepe obtained her Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering at University of Salerno, Italy. She continued her studies pursuing a Master in the same field. During this period she won the Erasmus scholarship and did her internship at DSM Material Science where she worked on the effect of solvent quality on drawability of UHMWPE fibers. After her Master she joined the Polymer Technology group as PhD student.

Research profile

Jessica Pepe is a doctoral candidate in the Polymer Technology group at Eindhoven University of Technology. Her research focus on the study of the effect of the extensional flow in polymer processing. She developed a filament stretching rheometer that allows to combine extensional rheology measurements with the crystalline morphology evolution by means of in-situ X-ray experiments. She is also interested in understanding the intimate relation between the material extensional flow properties and the process parameters in the newer jet printing technology. To this purpose she built a setup that allows high-speed imaging of the jetting process.
