As a PhD student at Eindhoven University of Technology, Jasper Postema will work on designing quantum error correction protocols tailored towards a neutral atom quantum computer. This includes the analysis of the statistics of error channels, and characteristing the properties of CSS codes, in particular codes derived from Algebraic Geometry.
Academic background
Jasper Postema completed his Bachelor and Master in Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology, and has briefly studied theoretical physics at Radboud University with a focus on general relativity and quantum gravity. His previous work focused on variational quantum algorithms for quantum chemistry applications, engineering multi-qubit interactions on a neutral atom quantum computer and quantum time series analysis.
