Sjeng Quicken is currently a post-doctoral researcher in the cardiovascular biomechanics (CVBM) group. His primary reserach interests is (computational) modelling respiratory biomechanics, with a special focus on lung behaviour during mechnical ventilation on the intensive care. For this reserach, Sjeng extensively collaborates with, amongst others, researchers and clinicians from Maastricht University Medical Centre.
Sjeng Quicken studied Medical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he obtained his MSc. in 2015. Subsequently, he pursuid a PhD at Maastricht University on the haemodynamic optimization of novel dialysis grafts under Tammo Delhaas, which was awarded to him in 2019. After spending one-and-a-half years at Fokker Landing Gear as a development engineer he started working as a postdoctoral researcher in 2020 at TU/e.
