Research profile

Irene Niet is a PhD student at the Technology, Innovation and Society Group of the Eindhoven University of Technology. Her researches focuses on the governance of AI in the Dutch energy transition. 

The aim of this research is to understand the governance of the application of AI in transitioning energy systems, more specifically in the transitioning Dutch electricity system, and thus understand the interaction between and convergence of the digital technology and the energy systems. Additionally, in this research it is investigated what social and ethical issues are related to applying AI in the Dutch electricity system and how the public governance of the application of AI in the electricity system and its consequences is or will be organized.
