Research profile

Ingrid Vliegen is Program Manager of the EuroTechPostdoc2 program. Within this program, the universities of the EuroTech Universities Alliance offer seventy Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships to experienced high-potential researchers. Ingrid is responsible for the implementation of both the subsidy program and the succeeding training program, and as such the main contact person for the European Commission, applicants, supervisors, evaluators and TU/e fellows.

What I like about the EuroTechPostdoc2 program is that it does not end when the evaluations are done. It continues as a training program and has the goal to build a community of EuroTech fellows.

Academic background

Ingrid Vliegen obtained her master’s degree in 2005 and her PhD degree under supervision of Prof. Geert-Jan van Houtum and Prof. Ton de Kok in 2009, both from TU/e. Afterwards she joined Twente University as an Assistant Professor until 2016. In 2011, she was a postdoc at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 2016, Ingrid returned to TU/e as a Project Development Officer, a role in which she supported researchers in their funding applications. Since June 2020, Ingrid is the Program Manager of EuroTechPostdoc2.
