Research profile

Ilde Lorato is a Doctoral Candidate in the Electronic Systems group. Her research is part of the ALARM project (Alarm-Limiting AlgoRithm-based Monitoring). She is working under the supervision of dr. Sander Stuijk, dr. Carola van Pul, and prof. dr. Gerard de Haan for the development of algorithms for camera-based respiration monitoring. Her work is performed in collaboration with Maxima Medical Centre and Philips Research.

Academic background

Ilde Lorato received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in 2014 and 2017, respectively.  Her master thesis was carried out in Eindhoven at Holst Centre- Imec NL, focusing on the use of radars for unobtrusive vital signs monitoring. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in the Electronic Systems group at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her research interests include medical technology, unobtrusive vital signs monitoring, and image and signal processing.
