Research profile

Hajo Reijers is a part-time Full Professoof Information Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The focus of Hajo Reijers' academic research is on business process redesign, workflow management, conceptual modeling, process mining, and data analytics On these and other topics, he published over 200 scientific papers, book chapters, and professional publications.  

His latest research is concerned with how to let people and computer systems work together gracefully in business process settings. Hajo Reijers is well-known for his contribution to the textbook “Fundamentals of Business Process Management”, which is in use in more than 200 universities worldwide.  

Academic background

Hajo Reijers holds a PhD in Computer Science (2002), an MSc in Computer Science (1994), and an MSc in Technology and Society (with honors) (1994), all from TU/e. Hajo Reijers wrote his PhD thesis while he was a manager with Deloitte. Previously, he also worked for Bakkenist Management Consultants, Accenture, and LexmarkHe is also a full professor in Business Informatics at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and affiliated with the TIAS Business School. He is one of the founders of the Business Process Management Forum, a Dutch platform for the development and exchange of knowledge between industry and academia.  

Hajo has been a visiting professor at the Queensland University of Technology and visiting scholar at MIT's Sloan School of Management. Hhas worked for shorter periods of time at Babson College, Stevens Institute of Technology, Pohang University of Science and Technology, Zayed University, the University of Technology Sydney, and Queensland University of Technology.
