Academic background

Gizem Korpeoglu received her PhD in Economics from Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University, and she also holds an MS degree from there. She received her BS degree from Middle East Technical University. Before joining TU/e, she served as an assistant professor at Bilkent University Department of Industrial Engineering and as a postdoctoral research fellow at University College London School of Management.

Research profile

Gizem Korpeoglu is an assistant professor at the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship and Marketing (ITEM) group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her research domain is innovation and operations interface. She studies traditional and innovative marketplaces using game theoretical and behavioral models, especially in the context of crowdsourcing, innovative business models, and supply chains. Her papers have appeared at top journals such as Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, and Journal of Mathematical Economics. She is a recipient of the second prize at INFORMS Technology Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship Section (TIMES) best working paper competition (2018), a finalist at INFORMS TIMES best working paper competition (2020), and a recipient of the Irene Curie Fellowship at TU/e (2020).
