Personal profile

Research profile

Giulia is a PhD candidate in the Signal Processing System (SPS) group, part of the Department of Electrical Engineering, at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).  Her research focuses on the analysis of sleep states and maturation of preterm infants using non-obtrusive technologies. Avancements in this field ensure a better growth for the infant and a better monitoring system for both clinicians and parents.

This project is part of HASTA (Healthy Ageing Starts with a healThy Start) which focuses on home-based monitoring solutions for perinatal and neonatal care.

Academic background

Giulia Palladino received her Master of Science (MSc) in Biomedical Engineering, with a specialization in Biomechanics, from Polytechnic of Turin in 2023. After her degree, she moved to the Netherlands and joined the TU/e as a doctoral candidate, working on sleep states and maturation analysis in preterm infants under the supervision of Prof. dr. ir. Carola van Pul, Prof. dr. ir. Oded Raz and Dr. Hendrik Niemarkt.
