Gamze Dane is an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Information Systems of the Built Environment Faculty of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her areas of expertise include urban planning and geographical information systems (GIS). Gamze’s research interests focus on explaining citizen and stakeholder behavior in urban environments by integrating econometric models and information technologies (such as GIS, sensors, location-based services) into urban models in order to provide policy formulations for sustainable developments.
Academic background
Gamze Dane obtained her PhD in Urban Planning at TU/e and also holds an MSc in Geographical information systems and Decision Making from Turkey. She is currently the principal investigator for a Horizon 2020 project: ‘Regeneration and optimization of cultural heritage in creative and knowledge cities’. Within this project, her aim is to provide smart tools using information systems for sustainable transformation of cultural heritage areas.
Gamze has held several talks on invitation for various parties, including Istanbul Technical University. At TU/e, she is also involved in supervising PhD, master and bachelor students, conducting research and lecturing several courses such as Information Management and Process Modeling, Smart City, Geographic Information Modeling and Research & Development.
