Faruk Uysal

Advancing radar technology and empowering space situational awareness through innovation, ensuring the safety and security of our orbital environment.

Dr. Uysal is a distinguished scientist at TNO Netherlands and an affiliate member of the Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) at the University of Oklahoma, USA. He is a senior member of both IEEE and URSI. With extensive industrial and academic experience in radar technology, Dr. Uysal specializes in beamforming theory, target detection, radar imaging (synthetic aperture radar), waveform design, digital signal processing, distributed radar networks and space situational awareness (SSA).
Dr. Uysal has served as an elected member of the IEEE AESS Radar Systems Panel (RSP) and currently holds the position of Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems.

Dr. Uysal is currently concentrating on advancing space domain awareness (SDA), and radar signal processing. His work involves developing innovative radar technologies and methodologies to enhance the detection, tracking, and characterization of objects in space. By leveraging advanced signal processing and radar imaging techniques, Dr. Uysal aims to improve the accuracy and reliability of space surveillance systems. His research also focuses on integrating distributed radar networks to provide comprehensive coverage and real-time monitoring of the orbital environment, ensuring the safety and security of space assets, while enhancing our understanding of the behavior and properties of space targets.
