Personal profile
Biography
In this Ph.D. project, I look at inference in biological and cultural evolution. I combine various schools of philosophy of science with the expertise I acquired as a researcher in biology to address the question of how epistemic and ontological constraints shape the kinds of questions we ask in evolutionary sciences. Through various case studies, I attempt to arrive at a view of evolutionary studies as science in practise.
My work in biology centred on the use of genome information to delineate and study biological entities, working in an array of biological disciplines such as marine biology, speciation and population genetics, fungal genomics, microbial ecology and human microbiomics.
