Eva van Aalen (1995) received her bachelor’s degree in medical sciences and technology in 2016. She continued to obtain her master’s degree in biomedical engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2019. During her graduation she worked on the development of a bioluminescent protein sensor for the direct detection of biomarkers in solution. She completed her degree with an internship at École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne in the laboratory of Professor B. Correia, in which she characterized de novo structure-based vaccine candidates.
Eva van Aalen is a PhD candidate under the supervision of prof. dr. Maarten Merkx and prof. dr. ir Jaap den Toonder and continues to work with protein biosensors for the direct detection of analytes in a point-of-care manner and is part of the RAAK project.
