Personal profile

Research profile

Dave Krop is full-time Assistant Professor in the Electromechanics and Power Electronics group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Prior to holding this position, he held a part-time position as Assistant Professor in the same department.

His research interests lie in modeling, magnet motors, advanced actuator designs, contactless energy transfer and electromagnetic devices. In 2013, Krop patented his linear motor with contactless energy transfer. He has authored, co-authored or contributed to 15 conference papers, 3 academic journal articles, and 1 book.

Academic background

Krop received his BE in Electrical Engineering in 2004. He received both his MSc in Electrical Engineering (2007) and his PhD in Electromechanics and Electromagnetics (2013) from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).

After receiving his PhD, Dave worked as a Research and Development engineer initially for Punch Powertrain in Belgium and later for Vostermans Ventilation. In January 2018, Krop joined TU/e full-time as Assistant Professor.
