Research profile

Collin Drent is an Assistant Professor of Operations Management within the Operations, Planning, Accounting, and Control research group at the department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences. His research focuses on the analysis of data-driven decision problems that have practical relevance using operations research techniques. Specifically, he is interested in the interplay of learning and optimization for decision-making, with applications to maintenance of expensive assets, manufacturing operations and service logistics. Much of this research is in close collaboration with industry.

Academic background

Collin Drent received a B.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering in 2015 and an M.Sc. degree in Operations Management and Logistics in 2017. Both degrees were obtained Cum Laude from Eindhoven University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Stochastic Operations Research from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Eindhoven University of Technology with the distinction Cum Laude. During his Ph.D. research, he was a visiting scholar at the Luxembourg Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management of the University of Luxembourg.
