Personal profile

Research profile

Christina Imdahl is Assistant Professor of Machine Learning in Operations Management at the OPAC group of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Christina's research is focuses on decision-making in operations management. She develops models that are strongly motivated by operational practice and explores how we can leverage data to make better decisions. In her research, she combines the use of stochastic and robust optimization with empirical analyses to gain insights into performance.

She is also particularly interested in the behavioral aspects of employing algorithms in practice and how these can be combined with optimization, for example, how to incorporate human input into the optimization process.

Academic background

Christina did her PhD at the Kuehne Logistics University in Hamburg working with Prof. Kai Hoberg and Prof. Jan Fransoo. During her PhD, she visited the SC Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. Christina received a MSc in Mathematics from the Georg-August University in Göttingen in 2016. Within her studies, she spent one year at the University of Oslo.
