My name is Christian Portilla, I come from Colombia. I  obtained the grade of Control Engineer and finished my Master's studies in Industrial Automation. Within my master's thesis, I formulated and validated mathematical models for multi-modal transportation. In 2015 I decided to start my doctoral studies in Civil Engineering to combine the expertise of the civil engineering department and applied mathematics.  As part of my doctorate, I did an internship for six months at the Delft University of Technology. As a result, in my thesis, I was able to design, develop, and implement a real-time urban traffic monitoring platform, where different data sources were integrated into a phenomenological model.

Currently, I am involved in the project DREAM (Dynamic Regulation of photosynthEsis in light-Acclimated organisMs)  as a post-doctoral researcher at Tu/e.
