Chih-Chia Huang is a Doctoral Candidate at the Power and Flow group in the Mechanical Engineering Department of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) under the supervision of full professor Niels Deen, associate professor Jeroen van Oijen, and assistant professors Yali Tang. In the ironmaking blast furnace, high-speed hot air is blasted into the furnace. A void spatial region, call a raceway, is formed. This raceway phenomenon has not yet been fully understood because of the harsh conditions in the raceway. Chih-Chia's research primarily focuses on the development of a numerical model for the prediction of raceway phenomenon and to unveil the complex physics and chemistries of raceway. His research collaborates with Tata steel and is part of the M2i program.
Academic background
Chih-Chia Huang obtained his bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University in 2015. In 2016, he moved to the Netherlands and started his master's degree in Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. During his master's study, he participated in the internship program at ASML for analysis of noisy SEM images. After finishing his master's degree in 2018, he joined the Power & Flow group as a Doctoral Candidate.
