Research profile

Can Bikcora received his Bachelor's degree in Control Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Istanbul Technical University. In October 2009, he completed his Master's studies at the Control Systems (CS) Group in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). As a recipient of ASML's Henk Bodt Scholarship, his graduation thesis was on observer design for the estimation of the disturbances in the focus and the dose of a lithographic process. From November 2009 to December 2013, he was a PhD student at the same group, under the supervision of prof.dr. W.M.J. Coene and prof.dr. S. Weiland. His PhD work was on another project of ASML: “Modeling and prediction of thermally induced imaging errors in deep- and extreme-ultraviolet lithography”. During his research, he received the Best Paper Award, over the journal publications in 2012, from the IEEE Transactions on Semiconductor Manufacturing. His current research as a post-doc in the CS group at TU/e focuses on electricity demand forecasting for smart charging of electric vehicles and his main interests include estimation and prediction, modeling and identification, and model reduction, along with their applications to industrial systems.
