In 2018, Boyan Xu participate the project "Kinetics of Solid propellant combustion" in Harbin Engineering University.

From 2019 to 2020, he studied the mechanism of methane flame's flashback for micro-combustor in Beihang University.

From 2020-2021, he was a member of the Group "Supercritical Spray and Combustion" in Beihang University and focused on the character of supercritical kerosene jet in crossflow.

From 2022-present, he joined the Power & Flow group as a Ph.D candidate.
