Bin Yu was born on the 25th of January, 1988, in Wuhai, China. In 2010, he received the double bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering and Industrial Design at Chongqing University in China. Next, he was recommended for admission to Northeastern University, Shenyang, China. He started a master program of Mobile Healthcare Design at Sino-Dutch Biomedical and Information Engineering School and obtained the Master degree in 2012. After graduation, he worked as a research assistant in the Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering, SIAT, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In October 2013, he started his PhD research in the Industrial Design department of Eindhoven University of Technology. The PhD project was carried out under the supervision of prof. Loe Feijs, dr. Jun Hu and dr. Mathias Funk. This thesis is the result of his PhD research on the topic of “Designing Biofeedback for Managing Stress”.
