In 2011 I obtained my bachelor’s cum laude at department of Chemical Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology. My final bachelor’s project in the group of professor Rint Sijbesma focused on the synthesis of cholesteric liquid crystal based chemical sensors. During my master study in the group of professor Bert Meijer, I developed novel, single-chain polymeric nanoparticle based organocatalysts, capable of catalyzing an aldol reaction in water very efficiently. For this work I was awarded the Unilever research prize in 2014 and nominated for receiving an academic award in 2015.

After obtaining my master’s degree cum laude, I started as a PhD student in the group of Prof. Meijer in 2014. Currently, my research focusses on the synthesis of discrete length block copolymers. In contrast to conventional, disperse block copolymers, these polymers have a perfectly defined length and composition. We believe that this is a necessity to increase our understanding of structure-property relationships for block copolymer systems. Besides doing research, I am also equipment reponsible for our CD, UV-VIS, fluorescence and reveleris automated column machines,  chair of the Supramolecular Polymers and Materials group meetings and member of the TU/e emergency response officers team.
