Bas Meere is a PhD candidate in the Control Systems Technology group at Eindhoven University of Technology. He completed both his BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering at the same institution, graduating in 2020 and 2023, respectively. During his master's thesis, Bas developed an automated calibration method for the Philips Image Guided Therapy robots.
Research profile
Bas Meere started his PhD project in 2023 under the supervision of Elena Torta, Duarte Antunes and Paula Chanfreut. The project aims to develop an autonomous aerial radiography system for detecting internal defects in large infrastructure. The proposed solution comprises two synchronized drones carrying the source and detector of an X-ray system. The system supports effective predictive maintenance by significantly reducing manual labor and inspection costs.
The project is part of a larger collaboration with the companies SpectX and Avular.
