Research profile

Jos van Schijndel obtained a BSc (ing.) degree in 1987 at the Department of Applied Physics, Fontys University of Applied Sciences (cum laude). In 1991 he started as research engineer at the building physics laboratory at the Department of Architecture, Building and Planning, Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). He completed his MSc (ir.) in 1998 at the Department of Applied Physics (TU/e) beside his work in the lab. In 1999 he promoted to assistant professor at the Building Physics and Systems group (TU/e). In 2007 he obtained a PhD (dr.) degree at the Department of Architecture (TU/e). His research is focused on Computational Building Physics. His passion is creative computational modeling using state-of-the-art scientific software and experimental validation in real life buildings. Moreover, his goals are so-called triple-win projects, each including: creative research, inspired education for students and relevancy for society. From 1 Feb. 2018 he no longer works at TUe.
