I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Electro-Optical Communications (ECO) group within the Quantum and Terahertz Systems track.

Academic background

I completed my Ph.D. in the Signal Processing Systems group within the Information and Communication Theory Lab. My doctoral research centered on the mathematical modeling of nonlinear effects in optical fiber transmissions and developing practical digital signal processing techniques for distortion mitigation. I have experience simulating fiber optical transmissions and designing digital signal processing solutions. Before my doctoral studies, I earned a B.Sc. (cum laude, 2012) and a M.Sc. (2018) in Physics from Universidad del Valle, Colombia. My master's research focused on the efficiency of surface codes, a family of topological quantum error-correcting codes.

During 2017 and 2018, I worked as a lecturer at Universidad del Valle and the Pontifical Xavierian University. Since I arrived at TU/e, I have been actively engaged in training and practice activities in education.
