Ton Staring is member of the research group Physical Chemistry. He supports researchers by training, advising interpret in using equipment of different kind within this group and understanding the obtained results.
He received his B.Sc. (Chemical Technology) in 1986 and after working for 3 years at the research department of Simson B.V. on the development of adhesives for the construction –and car industry, in 1990 he joined the group of Prof. Piet Kerkhof at the Eindhoven University of Technology (Process Technology, Transport Phenomena and Separation Technology). In this group he did developed and constructed electric field driven bubble columns.
In 1999 he joined the group of Prof. Dieter Vogt (Laboratory of Homogeneous Catalysis) and in 2012 he joined the education group of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. In the group Homogeneous Catalysis he constructed and build high pressure reactors and was responsible for the analytical equipment (GC, GC-MS , (Prep) HPLC, LC-MS and IR).
Since 2016 he is a member of the group Physical Chemistry of Prof. Remco Tuinier. In this group he is responsible for Size Exclusion equipment, Inverse Gas Chromatography, viscosity and density measuring device, freeze drying equipment and other basic laboratory equipment.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
