Ahmad Amiri Rad is a postdoctoral researcher at Polymer Technology Group of TU Eindhoven. His research focuses on constitutive modeling of fiber reinforced thermoplastics. This involves prediction of different failure modes of thermoplastic composites such as plasticity controlled and crack growth controlled failure under static or cyclic loading. The developed models aim to efficiently capture viscoelastic-viscoplastic and anisotropic behavior of this class of composites.
Ahmad Amiri Rad received his Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Iran University of Science ad Technology in Tehran. He completed his Master's and PhD at Isfahan University of Technology. His master's thesis focused on fatigue crack growth prediction using Extended Finite Element Method (XFEM). In his PhD, He developed material models that can be utilized in designing composite laminates against fatigue-driven delamination failure. He worked on development of efficient numerical techniques which utilizes cohesive zone and level set method to predict crack growth under fatigue loading. In 2015, He was awarded Iran's National Elites Foundation prize for outstanding PhD students.
