The department combines a rich collection of in-house disciplinary perspectives ranging from social sciences and humanities to operations research, management, and entrepreneurship. Building on these disciplinary knowledge and using a system’s approach, our research focuses on gaining knowledge on and designing integral solutions for complex industrial and societal challenges. Our aim is effective, acceptable and value driven innovation, leading to successful and responsible adoption and implementation in and by humans, companies and society at large of new key enabling technologies, such as robotics, artificial intelligence, green energy and high-tech systems.
