Our goal is to advance robot autonomy by developing semantic world models that enable robots to better understand and interact with their environment.

How can we equip robots with the understanding required to operate autonomously in an open world?

Our group is dedicated to advancing robotics by creating algorithms that allow robots to navigate and function in complex, real-world settings. Robots need to understand the environment they operate in in the context of the task that must be solved. Our research focuses on developing world models that combine common sense reasoning, historical data, and real-time sensory input, enabling robots to solve tasks in unpredictable, open-world scenarios. Our solutions are applicable across a range of industries, including agriculture, automated driving, logistics, inspection and service robotics.
