The Constructions and Mechanisms group investigates statically determined mechanical design of machines and instruments. Half of the PhD design projects are on robotic surgery systems, the other half is semiconductor industry research related. Graduate design training is available in both fields. Surrounding industries, academic hospitals and engineering companies provide additional training subjects in powertrains, automation, medical robotics development, and instruments for space and astronomy.
