The CryoTITAN is an instrument optimally suited for high-resolution imaging of cryogenic samples. It is equipped with an autoloader, which is capable of loading 12 samples at once at room temperature or cryogenic conditions, a field emission gun (FEG), can be operated at acceleration voltages between 80 and 300 kV in both TEM and Scanning TEM mode and is equipped with the Low Dose software package for imaging of beam sensitive materials.
In TEM mode a Gatan US1000 CCD camera (2k × 2k), a post-column Gatan Imaging Filter (GIF model 2002) and a post-GIF Gatan CCD camera (model 794, 2k × 2k) are available that enable to perform electron diffraction, zero-loss energy filtering, energy filtered TEM and (cryo) electron tomography measurements.
In STEM mode a bright-field (BF), annular dark field (ADF) and high angle annular dark field (HAADF, Fischione) detectors are available for imaging (4k × 4k), electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) for elemental analysis and (cryo) electron tomography measurements.
The CryoTITAN is used to study a wide range of (cryo) samples, including molecular assemblies, polymers and composites, nanoparticles, porous materials, and catalysts.
