These datasets include historical trade data, focusing on the imports of vegetable oils and fats to the Netherlands between 1910 and 2023. Data sources include data between 1962 and 2023 from the UN COMTRADE database (https://comtradeplus.un.org), as well as archival material from the Dutch statistics office (CBS Historisch 1910-1939) and from the Dutch National Archive (specifically from the Productschap Margarine, Vetten en Oliën 1947-1961). The data concerns imports of copra, copra oil, copra oilcake, fish and whale meal, groundnuts, groundnut oil, groundnut oilcake, linseed, linseed oil, meat meal, palm kernel oil, palm nuts & kernels, palm oil, palm oilcake, rape and colza seed, rape & colza seed oilcake, rape, colza or mustard oil, rapeseed, rapeseed oil, soya beans, soya oil, soya oilcake, sunflower oil, sunflower oilcake and sunflower seeds.
