Description

The lecturer of this course is prof. dr. A. Gorak (from TU Dortmund).

The lecture gives an overview over the four souls of process intensification.  After the introduction it gives an overview over the Structure domain with a special focus in microreaction technology, structured packings and catalysts. It covers the design of distillation columns, using different approaches. In the Synergy part the reactive as well bioreactive distillation and reactive absorption are discussed in more details. In the domain Synergy hybrid separations and membrane assisted distillation are given as examples. In the domain Energy some alternative energy forms like rotating packed bed and spinning disc technology are presented in more detail. The lecture ends with am overview over periodic reactors and cyclic distillation in the domain Time. The lectures finishes with examples of different applications of Process Intensification in the industrial practice.
