Polymer physics

Course

Description

We discuss and explain the physical properties of polymers - large molecules consisting of many repeating units - in the context of their microscopic structure. What do they look like in vacuum, in a good solvent, or in a bad solvent? What happens at the microscopic scale when we try to blend or mix them? What structures and mechanical properties result when they are cross-linked into a network?
