- Introduction: physical quantities, dimension and units, error propagation, scalars and vectors
- Kinematics of point masses: position, velocity and acceleration, 2D translational and rotational motion
- Dynamics of point masses: Newton’s laws of motion, free body diagrams, gravitation, friction
- Work, energy and momentum: kinetic and potential energy, conservation of mechanical energy and momentum
- Mechanics of continuous media: 1D stress and strain, linear elasticity, hydrostatic pressure, Bernoulli’s law
- Oscillations

Objectives

Being able to analyse problems from physics in terms of mathematical equations and symbols.
