Continuous processing has been set to No. 1 priority by the ACS Pharmaceutical Roundtable and European Union for future chemical manufacturing. This course provides an overview of fundamentals and applications of continuous flow reactors and microstructured reactors in chemical engineering together with basic principles of their hydrodynamics, mass and heat transfer. This course describes new reactor types, , including microwave, inductive heating and plasma assisted reactors. Their plant process designs and discuss the types of applications and processes for which they are especially beneficial. Overall, the course prepares the students for the future in flow chemistry and chemical engineering.
