Description

This course will extend the knowledge and techniques learned at the course Images (8DB00/8VB30).
The most important topics covered are the following:

• Examples of clinical applications
• Methods for registration and computer-aided diagnosis
• State-of-the-art algorithms for these methods
• Validation of the various techniques;

Objectives

After passing the course, the student has:

1. Understand the role of medical image analysis tasks (registration and computer-aided diagnosis) in addressing clinical questions
2. Understand how basic engineering techniques (optimization, machine learning)  can be used to design medical image analysis methods
3. Implement and apply medical image analysis methods to solve medical image analysis tasks
4. Analyze results of medical image analysis methods
