| In the first part of this training, one of the most important type of plant design documents, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and design issues associated with them are discussed. An overview is given of different aspects, including equipment related issues, design conditions and safety aspects, piping, and instrumentation aspects. In addition, attention is given to utility systems and their importance for plant design and operation.
In the second part, an overview is given of Process Hazard Analysis, with emphasis on Hazard and Operability studies (HAZOP). To make this topic clearer, a half-day HAZOP study will be done with the students using a P&ID of an example process taken from a real design project. |
With these subjects, the training provides an insight into the more detailed aspects of plant design, and their impact to safety of facilities. To provide background to students on P&IDs and P&ID level design, including the use of Process Hazard Analysis.Assignment
