DBL Mechanics of a Blood Vessel



Clinical measurements are often non invasive, indirect and subject to measurement errors. Engineers play an important role in the development of measurement techniques and the interpretation of the clinical data, accounting for the reliability of the data. In this project methods to characterise the state of the vessel wall are investigated. The methods are first applied to a technical laboratory vessel model and subsequently to the carotid artery of a slaughterhouse pig.
