Description

The subject structure of computer science education and the computer science examination program provide the student with an understanding of the goals of computer science education. New developments in the computer science curriculum are discussed.

Learning pogramming.
Programming occupies an important place in computer science education. Here there are many choices to be made in terms of languages, tool support, sequence of concepts, abstraction level. The student learns to make trade-offs and after this part he or she is better able to understand the student's way of thinking and respond appropriately.
If required, attention will also be paid to lesson preparation, lesson planning and lesson evaluation.
 



 

Objectives

• The student is acquainted with the objectives of the computer science curriculum of HAVO and VWO and can bring these in connection.
• The student is acquainted with several philopsophies of computer science education, digital literacy and computational thinking.
• The  student can design and analyse the teaching of a subject of programming education; the student can relate this to approaches of programming education.
• The student kan use several activating teaching methods effectively in his/her computer science lessons.
• The student can formulate a vision of teaching computer science and act accordingly.

Computer Science Teaching is preferably taken in parallel with Werkplekleren, so that the student can link lecture material and discussions directly to practice and complete assignments at school and in class.
